The School of Munai
Title of the Project: Construction of an educational infrastructure to extend the school for the garo, khasi, lyngam, Bengali, nepali and other children belonging to minority groups of St. Martin of tours Parish, Munai, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, North East, India.
Brief Description of the Project:
Munai is situated right at the outskirt of the West Khasi Hills, of Meghalaya. Generally the people here are economically poor. The literacy rate is very low being only, 15%. This is a Project Proposal Requesting Financial Assistance to extend the school for the Garo, Khasi, Lyngam, Bengali, Nepali and other children belonging to minority group of St. Martin of Tours Parish, Munai, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, North East, India. Our aim is to ensure educational facilities to the children of the 43 villages of in and around Munai. If a school is built for these children they can be the cannel of change for their society in return. This Project came about as a result of the long request of the local people and the meticulous study of the place by the Claretians missionaries.
